At Amma's own wish, her 73rd birthday is observed as Vishwa Seva Dinam — a world day of service. Across India and around the globe, her children will mark September 27 not with festivities, but with seva offered to all of creation: free surgeries and children's heart camps, cleanliness drives, support for grieving families, mass weddings for those in need, and prayers for peace in every direction.

Free surgeries for 500 patients who cannot afford treatment, performed by specialist teams at the Amrita Hospitals — restoring health, and with it hope, for hundreds of families.

Paediatric cardiac camps across India, selecting children for free heart surgery — with MoUs signed with the Governments of Jharkhand and Odisha extending this care in both states.

Beloved children of Amma around the world,

In Amritapuri, where the backwaters fold quietly into the sea, another September is dawning — and with it, the birthday of the one who has spent every day of her life wiping the tears of this world.

This year, at Amma's own wish, there will be no festival of garlands and grandeur. Her birthday becomes Vishwa Seva Dinam — a day on which love does not merely speak, but works: healing ailing bodies, mending children's hearts, cleansing the earth, consoling the grieving, joining hands in marriage, and rising as one unbroken prayer for peace.

For what gift can we place before the Mother who keeps nothing and gives everything? Only this — to become her hands for a day. A wound tended, a street made clean, a family comforted, a lamp of hope lit in a darkened home: each of these is a flower laid at her feet.

Come to Amritapuri on the twenty-seventh of September. And if the distance is great, do not grieve — let your own two hands become the celebration. Wherever there is selfless service, Amma is there; and whoever serves is already seated at her side.
